A heritage village steeped in history that echoes of the slow-paced times of yesteryear while surrounded by incredible natural beauty of floral kingdoms, mountain walks, pristine beaches and ancient forests through which to connect and realign.

Ideally positioned for couples and families looking for a laid-back, slow-paced getaway in a quaint and historic village.

For outdoor enthusiasts there are several 4×4 and hiking trails, horse riding and mountain biking among the vineyards and fishing in the river and dams.

The Kleinriver passes through Stanford and is a central feature of the village. It offers an array of activities including boat cruises, kayaking, canoeing and bird watching. You can also relax and picnic along the banks, stock up on deli goods, fresh produce and local wines or enjoy a meander along The Wandelpad  our very own local nature walk.

Stanford is very proud of its Cape Victorian and Edwardian architectural heritage and is regarded as one of South Africa’s best-preserved villages.

Take in the fresh country air, gather at the market square, enjoy alfresco dining, and walks through the village. This is a perfect getaway for one or two couples, nature-lovers, birders, mountain bikers and hikers, coffee lovers and more… Alternatively you can find yourself in one of the many cosy spots and nooks at Bramber Cottage and just relax, read a book, go for a swim or just enjoy a glass of wine.
